We are building a best-in-class finance organization to support our continued growth.
Job Purpose
The Senior Account Representative generates new commercial business and supports existing customers across the Metro Detroit area. This role includes prospecting, cold-calling, B2B field sales, and regular travel to customer sites to maintain relationships, resolve service needs, and identify growth opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
New Business Development & Prospecting
• Research new business opportunities using LinkedIn, Google, and industry tools to identify potential customers, decision-makers, and project opportunities.
• Schedule pre-planned meetings with qualified prospects to support commercial growth.
• Identify events, networking groups, and community opportunities that can expand Priority Waste's commercial footprint.
Account Management for Major Clients
• Manage high-value accounts such as universities, large commercial organizations, and multi-site customers.
• Conduct regular customer check-ins to confirm satisfaction, identify new project work, and request referrals.
• Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure long-term retention and account stability.
Follow-Ups & Pipeline Management
• Maintain consistent follow-up on proposals, site visits, and open opportunities to keep deals moving forward.
• Track all major account leads and opportunities in the pipeline to support forecasting and strategic planning.
• Assist with past-due invoice outreach when needed to support account health and reduce aging.
Customer Service & Relationship Building
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, providing timely communication and proactive support.
• Build strong relationships that lead to new business opportunities within existing accounts.
• Ensure customers receive accurate information, reliable service, and consistent follow-through.
The successful candidate profile includes:
  • 5+ years' experience in sales and service industry with a concentration on outside sales
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize responsibilities while working independently with little supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while paying attention to detail
  • Excellent follow up and organizational skills
  • Experience with issue resolution, negotiating and customer relationship management
  • Ability to travel throughout the designated territory using a reliable, personal vehicle
  • Aptitude with MS Office and CRM platforms
