  • This position is onsite. The office is located in Oak Brook, Illinois.

Overview

  • Our client is seeking a Billing Operations Business Analyst to support the billing operations team on various technical implementations of new customer programs and services. The primary scope of this role involves gathering criteria for IT projects, managing large data sets for analysis, and troubleshooting operational issues within a regulated utility environment to ensure seamless meter-to-cash workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Billing IT projects by gathering criteria, creating and approving test conditions, and assisting with Change Management activities.
  • Develop, organize, and present operational, performance, and financial reports for both internal and external use.
  • Manage large data sets used for in-depth analysis and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot operational and IT issues and coordinate with internal departments to resolve.
  • Develop and execute test scenarios, perform system and user acceptance testing (UAT), and manage defect tracking and resolution processes

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Billing Operations Business Analyst.
  • Direct experience with Oracle Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) and/or Meter Data Management (MDM) systems.
  • Previous experience working within a regulated utility environment.
  • Technical proficiency with Oracle Utility products such as CC&B, O2M, and MDM.
  • High proficiency in standard software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Customer-driven mindset with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Working knowledge of utility billing processes and customer service programs, including rate structures, payments, and service orders.
  • Familiarity with utility-specific operational workflows such as meter-to-cash, outage management, and customer interaction channels.
