Position Description
ISSI , a machine shop and engineering firm on the southwest side of Indianapolis, is looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a team of skilled engineers and machinists to design and produce high-quality parts for a wide range of customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process and Tooling
  • Review prints, CAD models, and proposed processes in the ERP system to properly route jobs.
  • Create process models that define a part's progression through the machining process.
  • Identify tooling requirements based on the machining process and purchase tooling as needed.

CAM Programming
  • Program any required fixturing and parts using Siemens NX CAM.
  • Program multi turret lathes, 3-axis milling and 5-axis milling operations.
  • Verify CNC programs using full machine simulation in NX CAM.
  • Create efficient toolpaths and setups based on part requirements.

Machining
  • Set up equipment, prove new programs, and perform first article inspections (FAIR).
  • Create job notes, setup sheets, and work instructions to hand off jobs to machinists, and machine parts as needed.
  • Perform basic inspections to ensure parts meet customer specifications, utilizing a Zeiss CMM for complex inspections.

Process Support
  • Provide assistance to other machinists for comps, process changes, and general troubleshooting.
  • Work with engineering and the shop foreman as needed to review designs, machining strategies, and production scheduling.

Position Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training, apprenticeship experience, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with CAM programming in MasterCAM, Siemens NX, or similar.
  • Experience with fixture and tooling design.
  • Experience with turning, milling, or multi-axis machining.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and job requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
