Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations, equipment implementation, process improvement, and mechanical/electromechanical systems within a manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities related to the fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, engines, and manufacturing systems. This role will help ensure manufacturing processes meet or improve quality standards, industry requirements, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

This is an individual contributor role that requires strong engineering judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The role requires the ability to apply manufacturing engineering expertise, analyze factual information, evaluate process and equipment performance, and recommend improvements to support safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Engineering and Equipment Support
  • Direct and coordinate activities related to fabrication, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, engines, and manufacturing systems.
  • Support manufacturing processes by evaluating equipment performance, process capability, product quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical support for mechanical and electromechanical equipment used in manufacturing operations.
  • Oversee or support equipment installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  • Work with manufacturing, maintenance, facilities, quality, engineering, and operations teams to resolve equipment or process-related issues.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to reduce downtime, improve output, and maintain consistent quality.
Process Improvement and Quality Support
  • Ensure quality levels and industry standards are maintained or improved throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and process consistency.
  • Analyze manufacturing outcomes, equipment performance, and process data to support improvement recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment, workflow, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
  • Help develop and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment or process issues.
  • Apply engineering judgment and problem-solving methods to improve manufacturing performance.
Mechanical Systems and Utilities Support
  • Oversee or support installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems such as centralized heat, gas, water, steam, or related manufacturing support systems.
  • Evaluate mechanical products, equipment, or systems to determine efficiency, performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support investigation and resolution of mechanical or electromechanical system failures.
  • Review field or manufacturing-floor installations and recommend design or process modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
  • Partner with facilities, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure equipment and systems are operating safely and effectively.
Technical Evaluation and Problem Solving
  • Use engineering analysis and practical manufacturing knowledge to evaluate equipment, systems, products, and processes.
  • Make evaluative judgments based on factual information, technical data, prior experience, and established engineering practices.
  • Recommend design, process, equipment, or maintenance modifications to improve reliability and eliminate recurring issues.
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for manufacturing or equipment-related concerns.
  • Document findings, recommendations, and actions clearly for internal stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Documentation
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, facilities, operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to support business and production objectives.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, reports, project notes, technical records, and process updates.
  • Support project planning, implementation, and follow-up activities related to equipment or manufacturing improvements.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, technical issues, risks, and resolution progress.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, equipment engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Experience supporting mechanical or electromechanical equipment, tools, machines, systems, or manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, procedures, systems, and engineering concepts.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to apply professional judgment and technical expertise to evaluate issues and recommend solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make decisions based on factual information and technical analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week fully onsite in Mahwah, New Jersey.
