We're looking for a Senior Robotics and Control Engineer to join our team and contribute to developing cutting-edge solutions for our core robotic manufacturing technologies. This role is based at our facility in Calgary, AB.

What you'll do:
  • Leading design, development, evaluation and improvement of robotic manufacturing systems and processes by working closely with a diverse technical team of software developers and robotic engineersย 

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair robotic hardware, sensors,ย driversย and softwareย 

  • Maintain and promote a safe and professional environment withย a high levelย of safety awareness and complianceย 

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the junior members of the teamย 

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Bachelor/College degree in Robotics, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,ย Master'sย degreeย preferred.ย ย 

  • 8+ย years' experienceย in manufacturing environmentsย with automation systems programming and control, including industrial robots and PLCsย ย 

  • Strong knowledge and experience in industrial robot programming, PLC/HMI, control panel, automation and electrical standards and best practicesย with provenย history of commissioning manufacturing equipmentย 

  • PLC and HMI programming experience (Beckhoff experience will be a plus)ย 

  • Experience in designing fieldbus network architectures (EtherCATย experience will be aย plus)ย 

  • Experience in Safety Programmingย 

  • Experience withย perception systems such as force torque sensors, rangeย findersย and vision systems.ย ย 

  • Willingness toย participateย in a variety of technical areas in both software and hardware as needed to solve complex problems and achieve business impactย 

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving,ย communicationย and organization skillsย 

  • Ability to work at our Calgary facility and travel up to 25% to other facilities as neededย 

  • (Preferred) Hands-on experience applying AI tools to automation and controls engineering such as code generation, troubleshooting, or optimizing control logic.ย 

  • (Preferred) Experience in integrating Kuka robots is a great assetย 

  • (Preferred) Experience with electrical system design implementation in compliance with electrical standardsย 

  • (Preferred) Programming experience in Python,ย SQLย or similar languageย
