POSITION SUMMARY:
  • The Senior Database Manager reports to the Head of Data, Analytics & AI
  • Located in Mansfield, MA
  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid

Summary: Senior Manager TriMark USA's data and analytics function is scaling its reporting capabilities to deliver trusted, governed insights across the enterprise. As Sr. Manager, Reporting & Analytics, you will own two interconnected responsibilities: the enterprise Power BI semantic layer - certified datasets, DAX standards, dimensional model governance, and report quality - and the end-to-end delivery of analytics to business stakeholders across Supply Chain, Finance, Rebates, Merchandising, and Operations. You will direct offshore reporting and analytics resources to execute the BI workload at scale, while serving as the primary analytics partner to the business. This role requires someone who can architect a semantic model in the morning and translate a rebates question into an actionable dashboard by end of day.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Own the enterprise Power BI semantic layer: certified datasets, DAX measures, dimensional model standards, dataset refresh SLAs, and report governance across all business domains.
• Lead analytics delivery to business stakeholders - translate business questions from Supply Chain, Finance, Rebates, and Operations into dashboards, reports, and self-service models. • Direct and govern offshore reporting and analytics resources: scope definition, sprint planning, code and report reviews, quality accountability, and delivery SLAs.
• Partner with Data Engineering on Gold-layer data model requirements, semantic definitions, and data quality standards to ensure reporting reflects trusted, governed data.
• Establish and enforce reporting standards: certified dataset governance, naming conventions, visual design standards, RLS patterns, and refresh reliability.
• Manage the reporting backlog: intake, prioritization, effort estimation, and delivery tracking in partnership with the Director, Data Products.
• Drive adoption of self-service analytics - enable and train business users to operate independently within governed reporting frameworks.
• Rationalize the existing report portfolio: identify redundancy, retire ungoverned assets, and migrate users to certified, standardized solutions.
• Own semantic layer documentation: metric definitions, glossary, source-to-report lineage, and dataset certification records.
• Mentor and develop reporting and analytics team members; build a culture of craftsmanship and business impact.
COMPETENCIES:
• Strong Power BI and analytics engineering leadership with deep hands-on capability.
• Business-facing communication: translates data into insights that stakeholders act on, not just consume.
• Governance and standards discipline - maintains certification rigor without slowing delivery.
• Offshore delivery management: holds distributed teams accountable to quality and throughput.
• Continuous improvement mindset: rationalizes the report portfolio, reduces duplication, improves performance over time.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• 8+ years in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or reporting leadership roles, with 3+ years managing teams.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Power BI: semantic models, DAX, Power Query, report development, and dataset governance.
• Experience designing and governing enterprise semantic layers - certified datasets, metrics governance, row-level security.
• Strong SQL and familiarity with dimensional modeling concepts (star schema, conformed dimensions, slowly changing dimensions).
• Proven ability to direct offshore BI development teams and deliver against defined SLAs and quality standards.
• Preferred: experience in distribution, supply chain, rebates, or multi-division enterprise environments.
• Preferred: experience with dbt, analytics engineering, or semantic layer tooling (e.g., Cube.js, dbt metrics layer).
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance
  • At this time, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for employment
