Senior Manager, Project Management

Overview of this Position:

The Senior Manager, Project Management is responsible for external tech transfer projects and/or commercial accounts/projects. Ensure Project Managers and project teams are successful in meeting client schedules, risks, goals, etc. Liaison and direct contact for Sr. Leadership of clients with a product portfolio at GRAM or even one specific project. Build relationship with clients; Client and GRAM advocate; escalation management. Prepare and conduct Governance and Business Review meetings. Provide training and support for professional development of the Sr. Project Managers, Project Managers and Associate Project Managers. Detail oriented and has excellent organizational, communication and management skills to coordinate with the internal project team and clients. Responsible for oversight, training, and execution for the use of tools that create project schedules, risk management, assigning responsibilities, tracking action items and critical path items, and managing day-to-day operational aspects of project managers and client relationships. Responsible for reviewing project work orders and change orders. Ensures invoice milestones are completed in a timely fashion. This is a fully onsite position. 


Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Biochemistry, or other Life Sciences or related field, and a minimum of 10 years related work experience in Pharma/Biotech/Life Sciences or similarly regulated industry.
  • Proficient in project management software required.
  • Training or education in project management or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
  • Experience in risk management.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Regulatory knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing with GMPs, change control, risk management and quality by design.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Direct work experience in project management capacity, specifically with tech transfer of products into a sterile manufacturing facility.
  • Demonstrated leadership managing people.
  • PMP Certification desired.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead the oversight and consistent implementation and usage of tools for planning and implementation of customer projects.
  • Act as a liaison between client Sr. leadership and GRAM project managers and leadership.
  • Manage team of Sr. Project Managers, Project Managers and Associate Project Managers, including task delegation and planning, performance management, and professional development
  • Responsible for global customer relationships and programs, key account management.
  • Serve as a liaison for the Project Management team and the evaluation of new business opportunities.
  • Facilitate the training and consistent use of tools for planning and definition of the project scope, milestones, risks, goals, and deliverables through implementation of change controls, tech transfer plans, and templated project management tools.
  • Work with all internal departments at GRAM to ensure escalation of late tasks, risks, etc. are executed appropriately across other area management at GRAM.
  • Hold regular status meetings with project managers to facilitate progress on the project managers projects.
  • Minimize GRAM's exposure and risk on projects.
  • Communicate relevant project information to sponsors.
  • Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
  • Set and manage customer expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Track invoice milestones.
  • Seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships.
  • Availability to flex schedule to host customers while onsite.
  • Open to a flexible and fluid work environment.
  • Participate in new and/or perspective client visits.
