Job description

Position Summary:
The Senior Quality Informatics Analyst (SQIA) functions as the clinical resource, educator, consultant and Quality/ Meaningful Use leader for Conway Medical Center (CMC) information systems.  Responsible for the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, evaluation and training of information system projects to improve the end user experience.  Will function as an internal consultant and resource to acute care and ambulatory practice personnel and will provide direction and education for all clinical information systems initiatives in accordance with the strategic objectives of CMC. Will continually monitor and evaluate opportunities for technical innovations and enhancements, ensuring that the applications and systems utilized are consistent with professional standards of best clinical practice. The SQIA will interpret, modify, analyze and design clinical systems, data, and information as well as implement applications, tools, processes, and structures that assist with the management of data in the provision of health care. The SQIA will coordinate with Information Systems team (IS) to identify, select and maintain equipment needed for optimal utilization of the clinical electronic systems, policy development and monitoring of process changes.  SQIA will participate in department operational and clinical committees in relation to clinical system design as directed by manager. The SQIA role includes management of complex interactions between applications being implemented and various patient care processes and workflows. The SQIA will prepare training sessions and assist in making oral and written presentations to project teams and management. Will continuously seek education and training for new guidelines and requirements to keep up to date with EMR standards, quality measures including Meaningful Use, CMS standards, MIPs measures, and best practices in the healthcare industry. 
Qualifications
 
Education:         
  • Associate Degree in an Allied Health Profession, Information Systems, or closely related field required.
  • Bachelors’ Degree in a closely related field preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years Clinical experience required.
  • A minimum of 1-year specific Cerner support/troubleshooting experience required.
  • Experience with a variety of clinical software systems in acute care setting and/or ambulatory setting preferred.
  • Experience specifically working as an Informatics Specialist /Support Analyst preferred.

Special Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, clinical staff, physicians, and department heads required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer and PowerPoint required.
  • Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of leadership, creativity, teaching, education, and group dynamics preferred.
  • Knowledge of program development and administration preferred.
  • Strong positive collegial collaboration skills including healthy problem solving as well as promotion of safe environment for all staff to speak up and work together.
