Job description

About Abby Care: Powering the future of care at home for all of America.

Abby Care is building the leading AI-native platform for family-led care. America is facing a growing care crisis. Millions more people need care at home than ever. Over 50 million family caregivers support loved ones without the tools, training, or recognition they deserve.

We believe families are the largest untapped caregiving workforce in America, and that technology can help them deliver better care while driving stronger outcomes and greater transparency across the healthcare system.

Abby Care combines clinical oversight with an AI-powered platform to train, enable, and support family caregivers in delivering high-quality care at home. Our platform helps health plans and government partners better understand, verify, and improve care in the home. We expand access to care, reduce reliance on higher-cost settings, and help ensure public dollars are spent effectively.

We are proud to partner with leading health plans, providers, and community organizations and are backed by top VCs. We envision a future where family-led care is a core part of the healthcare system. Abby Care is building that future.

Join us in solving one of the most important challenges of our time.

The Opportunity

As Abby Care scales its support for family caregivers nationwide, robust data will serve as the engine driving our operations, product development, and clinical outcomes. To champion this vision, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Data & Analytics to act as a strategic player-coach, leading our analytics function and architecting the next evolution of our data foundation. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you will guide a growing analytics team while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Clinical leadership. Your primary deliverables will center on establishing the companyโ€™s core data model and unified metrics framework, upgrading the reliability and accessibility of decisionโ€‘critical data, and directly translating complex operational data into clear, actionable insights that drive cross-functional strategy.

Thriving in complexity, you are energized by the intricacies of a multifaceted platform spanning caregiver onboarding, care delivery, clinical workflows, and revenue. A rigorous systemsโ€‘thinker, you are passionate about architecting a trusted, scalable data layer that serves as our single source of truth while bringing the analytical rigor needed to guide decisionโ€‘making through our next stage of rapid growth. If you are ready to untangle complex operations and build the data playbook that ultimately transforms care at home for vulnerable populations, you will excel in this role.

This role is hybrid, with an expectation of working in person from our San Francisco office four days per week. combines

What youโ€™ll work on:
  • Data & Analytics Roadmap: Define and execute the strategic roadmap for our data foundation, prioritizing investments that drive measurable business impact.
  • Single Source of Truth: Standardize and govern core operating and clinical metrics, maintaining the central dashboards and reporting systems used to run the company.
  • Scalable Data Architecture: Partner with Engineering to build a unified, highly reliable data model aligned with our complex operational workflows.
  • Strategic Insights: Identify critical bottlenecks and shift the organization from reactive reporting to proactive, rootโ€‘cause decisionโ€‘making.
  • Crossโ€‘Functional Partnership: Collaborate with leadership across Product, Operations, and Clinical teams to translate ambiguous business problems into actionable data strategies.
  • AI Enablement: Apply AI tools to accelerate analytics productivity and establish the data layer required for future AI and machine learning capabilities.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and establish high standards of technical rigor for a growing, highโ€‘performing analytics team.
  • Handsโ€‘On Execution: Lead by example by actively contributing to complex SQL analysis, data modeling, metric design, and strategic investigations.
What success looks like:
  • You successfully lead, grow, and mentor an analytics function that thrives during our most critical stage of growth.
  • You build and maintain the core data foundation necessary to run a true AIโ€‘native healthcare platform.
  • You work handโ€‘inโ€‘hand with executive leadership, ensuring data sits at the heart of every major decision regarding operations, clinical quality, and product.
  • You reimagine our workflows by actively applying cuttingโ€‘edge AI to how we analyze data and make decisions.
  • Your solutions will solve highโ€‘stakes problems that translate directly to better, more effective care for families across the country.
What youโ€™ll have:
  • 8+ years in analytics, data science, or business intelligence, with proven experience managing or mentoring technical data teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a data roadmap that delivered measurable business outcomes.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, data modeling, metric design, and complex analytical problemโ€‘solving.
  • Strong experience operating within modern data environments (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Looker, Tableau).
  • Proven ability to align crossโ€‘functional teams, influence senior leadership, and establish clear definitions in complex environments.
  • Exceptional ability to balance speed, rigor, and scale while thriving in ambiguous, fastโ€‘paced, zeroโ€‘toโ€‘one or earlyโ€‘scaling startups.
  • Equally energized by developing people, architecting strategy, and rolling up your sleeves to execute the work.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in healthcare (payer workflows, clinical quality, regulated environments) or other complex, operationsโ€‘heavy industries (marketplaces, logistics, fintech).
  • Complex Data Systems: Deep familiarity with lifecycle analytics, eventโ€‘driven systems, and multiโ€‘system data environments.
  • AIโ€‘Forward Analytics: Experience building data foundations that support AI/ML, and a strong interest in leveraging AI for analytics workflows (automation, copilots, proactive monitoring).
  • Strategic Planning: A track record of supporting executiveโ€‘level company planning, forecasting, and operating reviews.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation packages that reflect the value you bring. We reward our team for the impact of their work.
  • Comprehensive health coverage that works for you. Choose from highโ€‘quality medical dental and vision options, including a $0 deductible PPO and a companyโ€‘funded HSA, alongside employerโ€‘paid life and disability insurance.
  • Generous paid time off. We provide policies that allow you to recharge along with 10 paid company holidays.
  • Financial savings benefits to support your future. We support your financial wellโ€‘being with HSA contributions, optional FSA and commuter benefits, and full coverage of all 401(k) account fees (employer match not currently offered).
  • Paid parental leave to support your growing family. We provide paid leave, so you can focus on bonding and adjusting to life as your family grows.

We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, consistent with applicable laws. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, satisfactory references, and any required documentation.

Our Values
  1. Families First Redefining healthcare starts with how we treat the parents and children we serve. We go above and beyond for every family, building strong, lasting relationships. We continually ask ourselves, โ€œWould we want this for our own families?โ€
  2. Urgency with Precision Millions of families are waiting for care, and they cannot wait, therefore this is not your typical 9 to 5 job. We match their urgency with our own, delivering exceptional care without compromise. Here, speed and excellence go hand in hand.
  3. Relentlessly Resourceful As an ambitious startup, we adapt quickly and make the most of limited time and resources. We solve challenges with creativity to deliver results without unnecessary complexity.
  4. Purpose with Positivity We take our mission seriously while never losing sight of the people behind the work. Respect, kindness, memes, and coffee make us stronger as a team and better for the families we serve.
  5. Driven to Redefine Whatโ€™s Possible We are here to make healthcare better, which means asking hard questions, challenging outdated systems, and finding smarter, more compassionate ways to deliver care.
