Position Title: Senior Manager - Application Support
Location: Hybrid in Birmingham, AL

Position Description:
We're looking for a Senior Manager - Application Support to oversee and optimize our enterprise application ecosystem, which includes custom?built platforms (OMS) and leading SaaS solutions such as Manhattan, Dynamics 365, and Google Cloud. In this role, you'll partner closely with cross?functional product teams-Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Inventory, CRM, and Data Integration-while leading a global onshore/offshore support team.
This is a hands?on leadership role for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys solving challenging technical problems, and is passionate about building reliable, scalable, high?performing business applications.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and mentor a global team of application support engineers in an onshore/offshore delivery model.
  • Support, maintain, and enhance Tier?1 enterprise applications including order management, warehouse operations, payments, and inventory systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, drive root?cause analysis, and ensure high system availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with product teams to understand business needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Optimize application performance through debugging, tuning, monitoring, and proactive maintenance.
  • Drive automation and delivery improvements using GenAI, scripting, and DevOps best practices.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to solution design for new features and integrations.
  • Support DevOps processes with a focus on Azure DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and automated deployments.
  • Lead incident management, escalation handling, and communication with global stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, system upgrades, and modernization efforts.
  • Design and build interfaces between ERP, legacy systems, and cloud applications.
  • Provide expert?level support for custom supply chain applications and integrations.

What You Bring
  • 10+ years of experience supporting or developing enterprise applications in complex environments.
  • Strong technical expertise in:
  • Java (Spring Boot, Quarkus, Java 7-21)
  • JavaScript, React, Node.js, EXTJS
  • SQL/DB2, stored procedures, database architecture
  • Google Cloud (Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Storage)
  • Azure, Azure DevOps, Terraform, GitHub
  • Experience leading onshore/offshore or nearshore delivery teams.
  • Background supporting ERP or supply chain applications (preferred).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex application issues across full?stack environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non?technical teams.
  • A passion for quality, ownership, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
