Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a remote Senior Java Developer to join our team.
Overview:
The client is kicking off a focused stabilization and modernization initiative for an application and is looking to bring on an individual to support this effort.
The application for the client is utilized to support various orders, vendor management/integration and fulfillment initiatives. This engagement focuses on retiring their remaining legacy dependencies, completing platform stability and observability improvements, and advancing a broader cloud modernization effort. The work spans backend service rewrites, cloud migrations (Google Cloud Platform), and reliability/observability tooling.
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in an enterprise environment
* Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform strongly preferred)
* Backend development experience in Java/Spring Boot
* Experience improving system resiliency, monitoring, and observability using Google Cloud Platform tech stacks
* Familiarity with varying toolchain: Cloud Foundry (PCF), Docker, GitHub Actions (CI/CD pipelines), Google Cloud Platform (Spanner, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage), Elastic Cloud/Elasticsearch, and Grafana/Looker for observability dashboards
* Strong communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate closely
* Demonstrable, hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools - specifically Claude and/or GitHub Copilot - to accelerate day-to-day development
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
