Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Bow Valley Credit Union is looking for a detail-driven lending operations professional to join our centralized Shared Services team in Cochrane. Reporting to the Sr Manager, Shared Services, this is a back-office role at the heart of BVCU's credit operations - the single point of accountability who we depend on to get loans funded accurately and on time.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

Loan Funding & File Ownership

  • Own file accuracy, completeness, and funding readiness from intake through disbursement
  • Resolve file discrepancies, documentation gaps, and coordination issues within defined authority
  • Prepare complete loan document packages and mortgage instructions, ensuring all conditions are satisfied prior to submission
  • Serve as a proactive service partner for branch lending teams, providing timely updates and clear communication
  • Maintain professional, timely communication with external legal counsel to support seamless mortgage funding


Loan Administration & Data Integrity

  • Complete all loan administration and processing activities accurately and within committed timeframes
  • Verify and maintain accurate loan data in the banking system
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly lending reports - interpreting findings and identifying trends
  • Track outstanding items and follow up with branch and internal teams to ensure timely resolution


Quality Control & Compliance

  • Serve as the central quality control point for loan file completeness prior to funding
  • Complete thorough pre- and post-disbursement checks on all files
  • Support internal audit and compliance activities with accurate, well-organized records


Service Level Accountability

  • Maintain accountability for funding turnaround, document review timelines, and closing package submission
  • Prioritize workload effectively under high-volume, deadline-driven conditions


Team & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and be a part of the solution
  • Support rollout of new processes, tools, and initiatives
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-accountability team environment


WHAT YOU BRING

  • 1-3 years of credit and lending experience, with demonstrated familiarity with all stages of the loan lifecycle
  • Experience in a centralized, shared services, or high-volume back-office lending environment (or a strong aptitude for it)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency; DNA banking system experience an asset
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accountable
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload under pressure
  • Proactive service mindset with sound judgment and clear escalation discipline
  • Ability to handle confidential borrower information with discretion
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills

THE FINE PRINT:

  • This position is on-site in Cochrane
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
  • Must be bondable and have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
