Job description

Link Acquisition Manager

North Star Network runs 50+ sports and gaming websites in 40+ markets, with over 30M monthly page views. We cover football, basketball, MMA, esports and betting.

We're looking for someone to manage link acquisition across the network. You won't be assigned a single site: you'll work across the portfolio and decide where the budget is best spent, market by market. The SEO team is 16 people, so you'll have colleagues who understand what you do and why a good link costs what it costs.

What You'll Do
  • Build and execute link-building roadmaps across our markets
  • Find, contact and negotiate with publishers
  • Decide how to allocate budget between sites and markets
  • Audit link quality and keep an eye on existing placements
  • Manage suppliers, budgets and reporting
  • Test new platforms and acquisition methods. Some will fail, that's expected
  • Help out on linkbait and digital PR campaigns
What We Expect From Your Links
  • Relevant and editorial
  • Published on indexable pages
  • Compliant with the agreed target URL and anchor
  • Within budget
  • Tracked and monitored
Who We're Looking For
  • 5+ years in off-site SEO or link building
  • Results in competitive SERPs. Betting or iGaming experience is a strong plus, and you should know how regulation affects what publishers will and won't accept in gambling
  • Good at outreach and comfortable negotiating prices
  • Professional English. Other languages are genuinely useful here given how many markets we operate in
  • At ease with Excel, SEO tools, and explaining your numbers when someone asks
  • Sports fan: a plus
What We Offer
  • Fully remote, a lot of autonomy
  • A real budget and room to test things that might not work
  • Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, Seolyzer and AccuRanker
  • A team that has been doing this for years across very different markets
How To Apply
  • Send us: 3 placements you're proud of: live URL, target URL, anchor, and price paid. We'll check them in Ahrefs, so pick real ones.
  • One campaign example (linkbait, digital PR, or anything creative you've pulled off)
  • Your availability and monthly rate
