Job description

Dexteritech Solutions, LLC (DTS) is seeking a skilled Technical Writer/Editor, Senior with a strong background in strategic communications to support our Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OIT) customer. The candidate must be a self-starter who can quickly understand new assignments, conduct research, provide relevant content, offer solutions and is adaptable. A baseline understanding of IT and experience with Organizational Change Management would be preferred. The environment is dynamic, and the client needs are often evolving. Flexibility and forward-thinking views are important for success.


  • Conducting research, analyzing data, identifying trends, and preparing reports. 
  • Determining program requirements and making recommendations. 
  • Analyzing programs, policies, procedures, and systems and making recommendations to optimize these. 
  • Drafting new or revised policies and procedures. 
  • Assisting program managers with the development of budgets and schedules as well as tracking metrics. 
  • Identifying and resolving issues and problems. 
  • Planning, analyzing, and evaluating the effectiveness of operations and programs. 
  • Preparing and presenting reports and recommendations 
  • Collaborates with executive teams and IT groups to create a framework and process for continuously improving and testing new content. 
  • Repurposes content for a variety of audiences/stakeholders and uses. 
  • Performs quality control of content. 
  • Edits narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors and to identify logical inconsistencies that will require author attention. 
  • Establishes processes and materials to build knowledge sharing based on how information flows from products/product line managers and across the organization. 

  • Bachelors in business discipline, computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education). 
  • 5+ years of experience. 
  • Must have experience in editing narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors and to identify logical inconsistencies that will require author attention.  
  • Must have knowledge in how to plan, analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of operating programs. 
  • Must be able to use source data to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and business processes. 
  • Must be able to use qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of the operations 
  • Must have experience in the application a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and scheduling tools.  
  • Must have experience in explaining in simple language scientific and technical ideas that are difficult for the average reader to understand. 
  • Advanced writing and editing skills 
  • A firm grasp of the challenges of communicating in the various channels available today 
  • Flexibility, ingenuity, creativity, diplomacy, and a willingness to learn and adapt 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, or other editing and GUI editing software. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier II Moderate Risk Background Investigation. 
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. 

  • Experience supporting large Cabinet-level federal agencies, ideally the Department of Veterans Affairs.
