What does a senior landscape designer do?

A Senior Landscape Designer is responsible for planning, designing, and managing outdoor spaces such as gardens, parks, and commercial landscapes. They create detailed plans and drawings, select appropriate plants and materials, and often oversee installation and maintenance. Senior designers also collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure projects meet aesthetic, functional, and environmental requirements. Their role involves both creative design and technical knowledge of landscaping principles and regulations.

How does a senior landscape designer typically collaborate with architects and other stakeholders during project development?

A Senior Landscape Designer regularly works alongside architects, engineers, and planners to ensure that landscape elements align seamlessly with overall site plans and client objectives. This collaboration often involves participating in design charrettes, reviewing architectural drawings, and providing input on plant selection, grading, and sustainable practices.
