Job Details:
Job Summary:
Take charge of the daily management of the FSQA department on a specific shift, ensuring the highest standards in food safety, quality, and compliance. The Sr Supervisor Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) role involves overseeing food safety programs, micro and chemistry labs, specification adherence, and product quality within your assigned facility. Reporting to the FSQA Manager, you will handle special projects, departmental budgets, turnover, and safety.
Responsibilities
  • Daily Oversight: Manage production practices including raw material receiving requirements, preoperational and operational sanitation, finished product quality, and Food Safety Systems.

  • Policy Adherence: Ensure all Tyson FSQA policies and procedures are followed.

  • Monitoring and Verification: Keep records associated with adherence to government regulations and food safety programming.

  • Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP/HARPC and SSOP programs.

  • Product Compliance: Ensure finished products conform to customer specifications and are properly labeled.

  • Reporting: Report product issues and audit results to plant and corporate FSQA, plant management, corporate sales, R&D, and operations.

  • Customer Interaction: Engage with customers and their agents for product showings, plant tours, and audits.

  • Complaint Management: Oversee investigation and response to quality-related customer complaints.

  • Analytical Monitoring: Monitor analytical results.

  • Training: Conduct and promote food safety training and education for employees.

  • Team Management: Select, train, and manage FSQA Supervisors and FSQA Technicians on the relevant shift.

This position is responsible for food safety, food quality, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Education:
  • High School diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Experience:
  • 2+ years in food manufacturing required.

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

  • HACCP/HARPC certifications are preferred, along with broad knowledge of HACCP, USDA, GMP, and SSOPs.

Computer Skills: Standard computer skills required; SAP, LIMS, and Safety Chain preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal, demonstrating the proven ability to correspond with all levels internally and externally.
Supervisory: Manage crewing, labor, and attendance of the FSQA department.
