Job description

Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation is a US-based gold and silver mining company, which operates its wholly owned Hycroft open pit, gold, and silver mine located an hour southwest of Winnemucca, Nevada.
Job Description
The senior geologist assists with all aspects of exploration as needed, including but not limited to drill planning and execution, core and RC logging, geologic mapping, geologic interpretation, near-mine reconnaissance, sampling, and QA/QC.
Responsibilities
• Strictly adheres to Company values, policies, and management standards.
• Plan, schedule, and supervise drill plans for RC, Sonic, and Core programs
• Provide accurate monthly cost reports, variance analysis, and cash-flow forecasts
• Perform regular drill rig inspections and checks to ensure safety and environmental protocols are met, generate reports to track progress and observations
• Log Core and RC as required, collection of all geologic and geotechnical information
• Review assay results from the drill and sampling programs, review QA/QC, provide updates on lab performance, sample failures, generate monthly reports
• Update geologic models (Leapfrog) with lithology, hyperspectral, geochemical, and oriented structural data
• Conducting in-pit mapping and data analysis for both mine modeling and geotechnical evaluation
• Conducting soil or rock sampling programs
• Collect data with handheld XRF, magsus tools
• Support Drill Services with drill pad locations and logistics as necessary
• Punctuality and regular attendance required.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
• 10+ years of exploration and production experience in an open pit or underground environment preferred.
• Must have the ability to work with Leapfrog and Vulcan
• Mush have working knowledge of acQuire, or MX Deposit database
• Able to perform all aspects of QAQC
• Ability to map on surface or underground
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with stakeholders (Mine Ops., Survey, Engineering, and other departments) to achieve overall goals
• University degree in Geosciences with field camp required
