The Opportunity:

As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in building this critical technology framework. You will design and contribute to API implementations, champion best practices for performance, resiliency, and availability, and build software as part of a nimble Agile team. You'll ensure the infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and meets SLAs, and that solutions are testable and maintainable. You will also participate in design and code reviews for key components and enterprise-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and contribute to API implementations.
  • Champion best practices for performance, resiliency, and availability.
  • Build software as part of an Agile team, contributing directly to the architecture and bottom line.
  • Ensure infrastructure is safely extensible, scalable, reliable, and meets SLAs.
  • Ensure solutions are testable, intuitive, and easy to maintain.
  • Participate in design and code reviews for key components and cross-enterprise initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Overall 8+ years of developing internet-scale solutions primarily using Java, Spring Boot, and NoSQL databases.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience in the following tools and technologies:

Java 11 (Lambdas, Streams, Completable Future, optional, generics)

  • Java functional and reactive programming
  • Test Driven Development
  • Asynchronous Reactive Microservices utilizing Vert.x
  • REST APIs using Spring Boot 2.0 (reactive) and skilled in Open API (Swagger) specification.
  • Designing database schemas,1 index design, and optimizations for query tuning.
  • Experience with modern software engineering tools: Git workflows, Gradle, load testing tools, and mock frameworks.
  • Experience with workflow orchestrators, preferably Temporal.
  • Good knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka and MQ.
  • A strong commitment to writing clean code and participating in peer code and architecture reviews.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Previous experience with payment systems or real-time transaction platforms.
  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Experience in API development for FinTech applications.
