Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing backend services for Asset and Wealth Management platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and relational databases, with the ability to build enterprise-grade solutions that enhance client value, improve operational efficiency, and support digital transformation initiatives.
In this role, you will:
• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain cloud-native applications and microservices on the AWS platform.
• Develop and optimize database solutions using SQL, PL/SQL, and MySQL.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure application security, performance, reliability, and scalability through best engineering practices.

This position requires candidates to participate in an in-person interview at our New York, NY location. Candidates should be willing and able to travel to the interview site as needed.
What you need to have to be considered
• 10+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong experience with AWS services and cloud-native application development.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and MySQL database development and optimization.
• Experience with software design patterns, object-oriented programming, and secure coding practices. Proficiency with modern DevOps and development tools including Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Maven/Gradle, and JIRA, along with strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $ 81,337 to $ 141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
