About the role
As a Senior Java AWS Developer, you will make an impact by building and supporting scalable, cloud-native applications that enable business growth and operational excellence. You will be a valued member of the engineering team, collaborating with business stakeholders, architects, and global delivery teams to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions using modern technologies and Agile delivery practices.
In this role, you will:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, and AWS technologies.
• Deploy, monitor, and support applications across AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.
• Partner with business stakeholders, architects, and offshore development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including application design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Actively contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Portsmouth ,NH. What you need to have to be considered
• Hands-on experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including AWS Lambda.
• Proficiency in TypeScript development.
• Experience using GitHub for source code management and collaboration.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to deliver scalable technical solutions.
This will help you stand out
• Experience designing and implementing microservices-based architectures.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and cloud-native application development patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with application monitoring and performance optimization on AWS.
• Experience working with distributed or global development teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $64,025 to $94,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
