As a Senior Software Engineer, Java within PNC's Retail Studio organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; or Birmingham, AL. The Senior Software Engineer, Java is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that support critical business capabilities. This role partners with architects, product teams, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality APIs and backend services using modern software engineering practices. The ideal candidate brings strong Java development experience, expertise in API design and integration, and a passion for building reliable, secure, and high‑performing applications. This individual will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from technical design through deployment and production support.

• Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.


• Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.


• Writes code, tests and deploys software.


• Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software.


• Maintains and debugs software.

University / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Base Salary: $86,250.00 – $172,500.00 Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.

Generally, this opening is expected to be posted for two business days from 08/03/2026, although it may be longer with business discretion.
