Posting HighlightsReporting to the Director of Operations of GCCIS, the Financial Analyst provides high-level financial and accounting support to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures while delivering exceptional service to college leadership, faculty, and staff.Key Responsibilities Include:Provide accounting, budgeting, financial planning, analysis, and reporting to a variety of stakeholders.Reconcile and monitor a wide range of accounts, including external and internal awards, faculty start-up packages, operating budgets, gift accounts, and overhead accounts.Serve as a primary point of contact for faculty on budget-related matters, providing financial guidance and support to advance their research objectives.Collaborate with Principal Investigators and department staff to ensure accurate and timely post-award financial management for a portfolio of externally sponsored grants and contracts, including financial reporting, account reconciliations, and resolution of outstanding financial issues.Prepare journal entries and process invoice payments, purchase orders, and travel expense reimbursements.Process procurement card transactions, payroll transactions, and student account adjustments.Provide guidance and high-quality customer service to faculty and staff on financial processes and Workday.Preferred QualificationsExperience with post-award grant administration.Experience with an enterprise-wide financial management system; Workday experience is preferred.MBA ,CPA, or equivalent advanced financial credential preferred.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Familiarity with RIT policies, procedures, and financial systems is highly desirable.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesigns, prepares, and presents financial information to the leadership team to assist with ongoing management and decision making regarding the college’s finances and operationsMaintains analysis and financial forecasting across the organization, including complex compensation-related reconciliationsPrepares cost models based on data from general ledger, registrar, student financial services, and fixed assetsCompletes and evaluates complex reconciliations and analysis of financial accounts, including operating, capital, special, discretionary, start-up, internal grants, and overhead project accounts to ensure transactions are accurate and in compliance with applicable institution policies and other regulatory requirementsDevelops annual operating budget based on current salary recommendations, current and new academic and operational initiatives, and revenue forecastsPrepares various standard and ad hoc reporting and analysis for management decision-making for multiple stakeholdersOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesKnowledge of accounting, finance, and budgeting practices and protocols to ensure accurate financial management and complianceKnowledge of enterprise-wide financial applications and Microsoft OfficeSkill in synthesizing and analyzing financial data and preparing detailed reports to support decision-making and budgeting activitiesSkill in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and customer serviceAbility to manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise professional judgment regarding financial decisionsMinimum Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in related field5 years of relevant experienceEquivalent combination of experience and education may be consideredJob Level OverviewSpecialized Contributor Level 3 - A senior-level role requiring broad understanding of the profession or field of work.
