Job Summary:

The Senior Procurement & Materials Planning Analyst is responsible for leading procurement, materials planning, and inventory optimization activities that support manufacturing operations. This position exercises independent judgment in developing material strategies, managing supplier performance, balancing inventory investment with production requirements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role serves as a key cross-functional partner to Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance, ensuring material availability while supporting cost, quality, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end procurement and materials planning activities for assigned product lines.

• Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, inventory trends, and capacity constraints to develop and execute material planning strategies.

• Independently determine inventory policies, including safety stock levels, reorder points, lead-time planning, and replenishment methodologies.

• Manage supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance metrics, and develop corrective action plans to address delivery, quality, and cost issues.

• Evaluate sourcing opportunities and provide recommendations regarding supplier selection, risk mitigation, and cost reduction initiatives.

• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to resolve material shortages, support new product introductions, and improve supply chain performance.

• Lead inventory optimization initiatives to improve inventory turns, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and improve working capital performance.

• Analyze MRP data to identify planning risks, forecast variances, and supply chain constraints; develop corrective action plans.

• Identify and implement process improvements that increase planning accuracy, procurement efficiency, and overall operational effectiveness.

• Support strategic supply chain initiatives, including supplier development, demand planning improvements, and business continuity planning.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

• 5–8+ years of progressive experience in procurement, materials planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.

• Advanced knowledge of MRP systems and materials planning methodologies.

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic analysis)

• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience using data to drive business decisions.

• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting.

• Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize work, solve complex supply chain issues, and make recommendations that impact operational performance.

• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
