PACCAR International Tax Manager primary duties include:

Job Duties:

  • Manage the Company's U.S. international tax compliance obligations for global operations, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 1118, and related international information returns, ensuring technical accuracy, timely filing, and continuous process improvement.
  • Review the company's worldwide income tax provision, including ASC 740 and FIN 48 analyses, foreign earnings, uncertain tax positions, and related financial reporting disclosures.
  • Monitor, interpret, and assess U.S. and foreign tax law developments, legislative changes, and regulatory guidance, advising senior management on business, financial, and tax implications and recommending appropriate planning strategies.
  • Manage foreign tax credits, Subpart F income, NCTI, earnings and profits calculations, PTEP, foreign-source income determinations, and other international tax attributes.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and technical support for cross-border transactions, legal entity restructurings, supply chain initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, financing arrangements, and other international business initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Finance, Accounting, Legal, Treasury, Business Development, and executive leadership on complex international tax matters, ensuring tax considerations are appropriately integrated into key business decisions.
  • Manage, maintain, and support the Company's global transfer pricing program, including policy development, documentation, intercompany agreements, audit defense, and compliance with OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines and global BEPS requirements.
  • Assist with foreign and domestic tax authority examinations, audits, competent authority proceedings, and other tax controversy matters, coordinating with external advisors and internal stakeholders to develop and execute defense strategies.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities to optimize the Company's global effective tax rate, cash tax position, foreign tax credit utilization, and overall international tax profile while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of U.S. income tax experience encompassing federal, international, and state tax compliance, tax provision, tax planning, and tax controversy matters.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive U.S. outbound international tax compliance and planning experience, including expertise in Subpart F, GILTI, foreign tax credits, earnings and profits, and international information reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master of Taxation, JD, LLM (Taxation), or CPA designation preferred.
  • Significant experience with a Big Four public accounting firm and/or a multinational corporate tax department, with demonstrated success managing complex international tax matters.
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. international tax rules, including foreign tax credit regimes, cross-border transactions, legal entity restructurings, and international tax reform provisions.
  • Experience managing or supporting global transfer pricing policies, documentation, intercompany arrangements, and OECD transfer pricing compliance initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex tax legislation, regulations, and guidance, and to communicate technical conclusions effectively to both tax and non-tax stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience utilizing tax compliance, provision, and research software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions and build effective relationships across Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, and business leadership teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, coupled with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to technical excellence.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, lead cross-functional projects, and drive process improvements.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members while contributing positively to a high-performing tax organization.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with OneSource Income Tax, OneSource International Tax, CorpTax, or similar tax compliance and provision software.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 740, FIN 48, and related U.S. GAAP income tax accounting concepts.
  • Familiarity with OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines, BEPS initiatives, Pillar Two developments, and global tax reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting tax audits, tax controversy matters, and interactions with U.S. and foreign tax authorities.
  • Process improvement mindset with experience leveraging technology (i.e., AI tools), automation, and data analytics to enhance tax compliance and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting technical tax research, analyzing complex statutory and regulatory authorities, and preparing clear, well-supported tax memoranda, position papers, and written advice.
  • CPA, Master of Taxation, JD, or other advanced tax-related credential preferred.
