Overview

The Senior Program Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale data center portfolios. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, oversee multidisciplinary teams, and drive projects from initial due diligence and campus planning through construction, commissioning, and turnover. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, financial acumen, and experience managing mission-critical infrastructure projects.

Summary

This position is ideal for a construction and program management professional with extensive data center experience who thrives in complex environments and enjoys taking ownership of large-scale initiatives. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for portfolio delivery, client relationship management, budget oversight, schedule performance, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring successful execution across multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities
Portfolio Delivery & Execution
Lead due diligence and master planning efforts for assigned data center portfolios.
Oversee program-level planning across multiple buildings and project phases.
Manage engineering consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide constructability reviews and technical guidance for electrical and mechanical systems.
Utilize expertise in critical infrastructure systems including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, fire protection systems, controls, and security infrastructure.
Monitor project schedules, risks, constraints, and progress while providing executive-level reporting.
Coordinate utility engagement activities and infrastructure upgrades with utility partners.
Lead integrated master schedule (IMS) coordination and recovery planning.
Promote and enforce safety standards throughout all phases of project execution.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned portfolios and client relationships.
Build trust through transparent communication and consistent project delivery.
Coordinate across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment.
Lead executive presentations, reporting, and strategic discussions.
Financial Management
Manage portfolio budgets and cost control efforts.
Review and approve vendor invoices and client billing activities.
Evaluate and manage change orders to mitigate financial and schedule risks.
Partner with Project Controls teams to support forecasting, procurement planning, and budget performance.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Drive initiatives that improve project delivery, efficiency, safety, and operational excellence.
Apply lessons learned and best practices across ongoing programs.
Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports and project team members.


Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and data center experience.
4+ years of project management experience.
Experience in data center development, construction, or mission-critical infrastructure.
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects from due diligence through construction.
Strong understanding of engineering, construction, and critical facility systems.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and design packages.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Procore.
Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to travel as needed based on project requirements.

Preferred
Experience with substation design and utility infrastructure projects.
Advanced knowledge of mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems.
