Job description


Sr. Integration Engineer
We are seeking an expert-level Senior Integration Developer to design, build, and govern mission-critical enterprise automation and integration solutions using Workato or Boomi. This role demands deep technical proficiency across the entire Workato/Boomi platform, encompassing core iPaaS capabilities, advanced API management, and the latest Generative AI/Agentic Orchestration features. The successful candidate will drive digital transformation, establish platform governance, and mentor junior developers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Solution Architecture & Development: Lead the end-to-end design, implementation, and deployment of complex, multi-step Recipes and Process Automation workflows, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • AI & Agentic Strategy: Develop, deploy, and manage autonomous AI Agents (Genies) using Agent Studio, ensuring they leverage internal context and execute secure actions across connected enterprise applications.
  • API & Data Management: Design and govern secure, scalable API endpoints using the API Platform and implement robust Data Orchestration pipelines for bulk ETL/ELT and data synchronization.
  • Hybrid Connectivity: Manage and troubleshoot connectivity to on-premise systems using the On-Premise Agent (OPA), databases, and private networks.
  • Governance & Operations: Implement enterprise-grade Security & Administration, including RBAC, SSO integration (Workato Identity), and lifecycle management (Smart Versioning and deployment promotion).
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize Insights and job history to proactively monitor performance, diagnose complex job failures, and optimize recipes for cost and efficiency.
  • UX Automation: Build employee-facing automation tools, including interactive Workbot (ChatOps) workflows and no-code Workflow Apps/AgentX Apps.
  • Technical Leadership: Create and maintain high-quality Technical Documentation, enforce best practices, and leverage the Community Library and AI Copilots to accelerate development.
  • Business Application integrations: Integrate various business applications, including CRM, HR, Finance, LMS, Legal, Budget & Forecast and business communication and collaboration platforms using Boomi.
  • Database: Develop and optimize SQL & PL SQL queries for database interactions.
  • Production Support: Provide production support for integration solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Human in loop: Building modern, interactive, and visually rich user interfaces for Slack apps, slash commands & slack API
  • Communication Protocols: Develop integration with all Communication Protocols (SFTP, REST & SOAP APIs, application specific connectors)
  • Financial integrations: At least 4+ years of experience in Financial integrations like AP, AR invoice, GL Accounting/Journals and Bank/treasury integration.
  • Payroll integration: At least 4+ years of experience in Payroll integrations
  • Legal integrations: At least 2+ years of experience in Payroll integration
  • Supply chain integration: At least 4+ years of experience in SCM integration.
  • Java/Groovy/Java script/Python: At least 4+ years experience in writing custom scripting using any of the Java/Groovy/Java/Python script programming languages.
  • Git/GitHub Experience: Collaborate on code development and version control using Git and GitHub. Manage repositories, branches, and pull requests to ensure a smooth and efficient development workflow
Required Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience with the Workato platform and demonstrate mastery in the following domains:
Core Integration and Platform Expertise
  • Platform Mastery (5+ Years): Minimum 5 years of overall experience covering recipe design, job execution, governance, and platform administration. Expert in Core Integration & Process Automation, including nested logic, advanced data transformation (Ruby/Python), and reusable callable functions.
  • Data Synchronization (4+ Years): Experience in large-scale Data Synchronization and ETL/ELT workflows, including bulk/batch actions and effective data management using Data Tables and FileStorage.
  • API Management (4+ Years): Proven experience with the API Gateway, including deploying secure API endpoints, implementing API proxies, rate limiting, and handling OAuth/JWT authentication.
  • Developer Tools (3+ Years): Experience extending the platform by building Custom Connectors using the Connector SDK and/or automating platform tasks via the Developer API.
  • Event-Driven Architectures (3+ Years): Experience configuring event triggers/publishers for message queues and brokers (e.g., Kafka, Amazon SQS).
  • User Experience Automation (2+ Years): Experience building user-facing Workflow &
  • AgentX Apps that incorporate human-in-the-loop steps.
  • Boomi Integration Experience: at least 3+ years of hands-on experience with Boomi integration.
Generative AI and Agentic Orchestration
  • Autonomous AI Agents (1+ Year): Practical experience designing and deploying autonomous AI Agents (Genies) in Agent Studio for complex, multi-system orchestration based on natural language intent.
  • AI Governance (1+ Year): Experience implementing enterprise governance, including RBAC and audit trails, for all actions performed by AI Agents.
  • Intelligent Document Processing (1+ Year): Experience implementing IDP workflows for data extraction and classification from unstructured content.
Preferred Skills:
  • Cloud Architecture: Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration services.
  • DevOps Practices: Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for Workato recipes and managing deployment through version control (Git).
  • Programming Languages: Strong command of at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, or JavaScript) for custom connector logic and advanced recipe steps.
  • Security Certifications: Knowledge of enterprise security standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2).
  • Workato Certifications: Certified Workato Automation Pro III or equivalent experience.
  • Industry Experience: Direct experience implementing Accelerators in a specific domain (e.g., Finance, HR, Sales Operations).
