Job description

Job Title: Senior Manager of Sterile Processing 
Job Location: Torrance, California, 
Job Type: Full Time 

Job Description:  

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for Sterile Processing Departments across Torrance and San Pedro locations. 

  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, sterilization, and regulatory standards (e.g., AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission). 

  • Develop, implement, and manage departmental budgets to ensure efficient resource utilization. 

  • Collaborate with Perioperative Services leadership, surgeons, and clinical teams to ensure timely and accurate instrument delivery. 

  • Oversee staff recruitment, training, competency validation, and performance management. 

  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and turnaround time. 

  • Monitor and analyze operational metrics, ensuring adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement goals. 

  • Partner with executive leadership to align sterile processing strategy with overall hospital and health system objectives. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree Business or Healthcare related field. 

  • Upon hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association. Or 

  • Upon hire: National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution. Or 

  • Upon hire: National Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association. Or 

  • Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution. 

  • 3 years Supervisory experience, including training and staff development. 

  • 5 year's Budget with management and analysis. 

  • 7 years' Work experience in the field of Sterile Processing 

Must have: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Healthcare related field? Proof this degree will be required to start in the position. 

  • Must have a current Certification in Sterile Processing? Refer to list of options in job posting. One is required and you will need to provide documentation. 

  • Minimum 7 year's experience working directly in the field of Sterile Processing 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a supervisor or Manager of a hospital Sterile Processing Department 

  • Minimum 3 years' experience overseeing staff and budget managementÂ
