Process Technician / Process Engineer - Injection Molding

Location: Chicago Suburbs, IL
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

A brand-new manufacturing facility in the West Chicago suburbs is launching and seeking an experienced Process Technician or Process Engineer to play a key role in the startup, optimization, and ongoing success of the operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on processing, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and being part of a growing operation from the ground up.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, establish, and optimize injection molding processes for new and existing products.
  • Perform mold changes, process startups, and production changeovers.
  • Troubleshoot molding, tooling, material, and quality-related issues.
  • Establish and document process parameters, setup sheets, and work instructions.
  • Monitor and improve cycle times, scrap rates, productivity, and overall equipment performance.
  • Support new product launches, mold qualifications, and process validations.
  • Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, tooling, and engineering teams.
  • Assist with operator training and process best practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support startup activities associated with new equipment and facility growth.
Qualifications
  • Experience in injection molding processing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience as a Process Technician, Process Engineer, Senior Process Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of scientific molding principles is preferred.
  • Experience optimizing processes to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with high-speed or precision injection molding operations.
  • Exposure to process validation and documentation.
  • Knowledge of automation, robotics, or auxiliary equipment is an asset.
  • RJG, Scientific Molding, or related training is a plus.
