Job description

Senior Program Quality Engineer

Location: Tucson, AZ.

Role type: onsite.

Salary range: $107,500‑$204,500.

Security clearance required: DoD Secret.

This position is a key member of the Precision Fires and Maneuver team on the Javelin Program. The Senior Program Quality Engineer will support engineering and manufacturing development as well as production contracts, ensuring program goals are met while complying with AS9100 and other requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of the Javelin Program team, ensuring successful program performance and delivering conforming products/services through effective collaboration and compliance with processes and procedures.
  • Lead the integration and implementation of cross‑functional teams to achieve alignment with quality and customer requirements as outlined in the program quality plan.
  • Act as a program quality liaison with customer organizations (DCMA and USG), factories, and engineering labs, responding to quality issues and concerns related to development and production.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and program leadership to define and implement quality improvement strategies.
  • Support supplier quality and engineering efforts, ensuring compliance with the supplier program quality plan.
  • Review and approve changes to the technical data package, assign actions, and complete actions in a timely manner (e.g., peer reviews, ERB/CCB, design reviews).
  • Document development hardware (engineering, proof of design, proof of manufacturing) in quality history records in accordance with the program quality plan.
Qualifications

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in quality management, quality assurance, engineering, and/or manufacturing.
  • Experience with quality management systems including ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102.
  • Leadership experience in failure and root‑cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and performing technical data package review.
  • Familiarity with technical data repository processes.

Preferred

  • ASQ certification and/or program management certification.
  • Experience with continuous improvement programs such as CORE, 5S, root‑cause analysis, process mapping, Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience with APQP/AS9145, PPAP, key characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans.
  • Experience with First Article Inspections per AS9102.
  • Experience with configuration control systems (cPDM, CABS).
  • Experience reviewing statements of work, supplier corrective action requests (SCAR), purchase order quality requirements (Q‑Notes, STAMP).
  • Experience presenting and approving changes via a formal Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Ability to translate system and contractual requirements to product, assembly, and test documentation.
  • Experience working as an individual contributor and in a dynamic team environment.
