Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Project Engineer to serve as the operations team's on-site representative during data center construction projects. This role ensures construction quality meets operational requirements before facility turnover. The postion serves as the as the guardian of construction and engineering quality, responsible for implementing and monitoring quality management systems throughout the entire project lifecycle. This position bridges the gap between theoretical quality engineering standards and practical construction execution, requiring regular on-site presence at project locations and close collaboration with design engineers, project delivery managers, and commissioning teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and uphold QA/QC standards by enforcing standardized checklists and acceptance criteria to verify all work meets design specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and quality walkdowns, participating in construction site reviews to identify issues or deviations from specifications across all disciplines with emphasis on mission-critical MEP systems.
  • Monitor construction activities for compliance with plans, specifications, and drawings, performing quality control inspections of materials and workmanship.
  • Identify and report safety hazards or discrepancies, ensuring adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including data center design engineers, project delivery managers, commissioning teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure facility construction aligns with operational requirements and best practices.
  • Review data center MEP designs and discipline plans for new builds and fit-outs, providing feedback from an operations perspective to improve maintainability and reliability.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation including daily progress reports, inspection records, test results, and as-built drawings.
  • Verify installation process quality meets contract documents, checking labeling, sizes, torque, components, and location.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions for identified issues, not just pointing out problems.
  • Resolve engineering issues and constraints through communication with designers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
