About the Organization
One of the leading private schools in Raleigh, N.C., Wake Christian Academy was established in 1966 and operates as a Biblically-based, Christ-centered Christian day school. It is a private, unaffiliated, board-governed, nonprofit institution which seeks to maintain high academic and spiritual standards.
Wake Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities accorded to students at the school.
The school, consisting of kindergarten, elementary, middle school, and senior high school levels, is concerned with the spiritual as well as the intellectual growth of its students. Wake Christian Academy is a fully accredited member of Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Cognia. Wake Christian Academy strives to maintain a high standard of excellence as set forth by these organizations. WCA teachers are certified by ACSI, and many faculty members maintain licensure by the State of North Carolina.

Description
You will be expected to execute the lesson plan assigned by the regular teacher and to carry out the prepared lesson plan. You must be able to give clear instructions and assist students in understanding the subject matter while maintaining discipline and control in the classroom.
Wake Christian Academy seeks professionally qualified applicants who have a love for children and who, by the pattern of their lives, are Christian role models (Luke 6:40). A substitute teacher's primary role is to maintain educational continuity by supervising students and following the lesson plans left by the absent teacher to ensure the learning process continues smoothly while adhering to the school's faith-based mission.
Position Requirements
  • Exhibit a consistent Christian testimony (Galatians 5:22-23)
  • Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ (John 3, Ephesians 2:8-9)
  • Participates in a local Bible-believing church
  • Ability to apply Biblical solutions to problems
  • Personal integrity and self-motivation in the fulfillment of WCA mission
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in area being taught
  • Speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Must be able to read and write cursive
  • The ability to follow lesson plans, left by the permanent teacher
  • Teaching capabilities in all subject areas
  • The ability to display problem solving, cooperative negotiating skills and conflict resolution strategies through a Biblical format
  • A calling to Christian education and a love for students
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team
  • Demonstrates basic computer skills and understanding of MS office, Outlook, etc.
