Senior Lab Technician

Fall Creek is creating a world with better blueberries through its friendly, collaborative team spread across the globe. To help us accomplish this, we are seeking a qualified Senior Lab Technician. This position will be located in Lowell, OR.

This position requires an understanding of the Transfer Room, lab processes and production data. This position records plant production, plant performance and technician performance data. They will also assist with training new employees. They are responsible for cutting, moving and shipping plant material. The senior lab technician is responsible for seeing that the Lab Technicians 1, 2 and 3 are performing their work in a safe and efficient manner. They need to be capable of balancing multiple tasks.

What you will do at Fall Creek:

  • Responsible for gathering plant material and culture media from staging areas and allocates the plant and media material to lab technicians.
  • Responsible to for checking plants and media for contamination, and plants exhibiting abnormal growth.
  • Responsible for labeling, scanning plant material, and storage of plant material.
  • Gathers and records plant production and performance data to monitor productivity.
  • Gathers culture media and plants from staging areas and allocates the work to lab technicians.

What you bring to Fall Creek:

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed instructions, directions, and protocols in English.
  • Requires a high attention to detail and the ability to observe small deviations.
  • Requires the ability to be highly organized in handling materials, equipment and supplies.
