The Idaho Youth Ranch is one of the oldest non-profit agencies in the state of Idaho. Our mission:

As a Sr. Accounting Specialist, you can proudly tell your family and friends that you help nurture hope, healing, and resilience in Idaho's youth by supporting our agency in its day to day operations, which includes our network of the thrift stores; the profits of which go to fund our Programs and Services and make them accessible to all youth who need those services in Idaho.
Must Haves:
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite, with advanced skills in Excel and Outlook
  • Strong understanding of payroll-specific principles, records management, and reconciliation processes
  • Ability to analyze payroll-related information and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism

Preferred:
  • Associate's or Applied Associate's degree in accounting
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or comparable ERP systems
  • Experience with Paylocity or comparable HRIS/Payroll systems
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable financial regulations

Responsibilities:
  • Perform payroll-related general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis
  • Prepare periodic financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation to facilitate things like inquiry responses, census filing, and grant expenditures
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other payroll-related financial accounts in a timely and accurate manner
  • Review and validate financial data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures

As a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, the Idaho Youth Ranch is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PLSF) program. The PLSF offers student loan forgiveness on qualifying loans under specific conditions. Speak with your loan provider for more information.
