Experienced / Senior Ground Loads Engineer
Company:

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Experienced / Senior Ground Loads Engineer to support Air Dominance programs in St. Louis, Missouri.
As a member of the BDS Air Dominance Loads & Dynamics (L&D) Capability Team, you will be part of a core engineering team directly supporting production and development programs including F-15, F/A-18, T-7A, MQ-25, and proprietary programs. The L&D team is looking for individuals with experience ground loads. Position commensurate with experience.
Position Responsibilities
  • Lead in developing air vehicle design criteria for ground loads
  • Collaborate with the airframe & subsystems design and analysis engineers to generate integrated aerodynamic, structural, and landing gear models for flight vehicle analysis consistent with a Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment
  • Perform ground loads analyses (ground handling, taxi, takeoff & landing, etc.) to support air vehicle design and stores integration
  • Define allowable flight envelopes and operational limits
  • Develop flight and ground test plans
  • Create finite element and multi-body dynamics models and correlates to test results
  • Execute ground and flight test programs by the development of test requirements, providing data for pre-test analysis, monitoring testing, data analysis and documenting results, in order to support design and verification of vehicle and components
  • Review and approve airframe and subsystems hardware packages for airworthiness and to ensure the air vehicle meets the service environment
  • Provide data to support the definition and documentation of structural design requirements for the service life of the product, to ensure company, customer and regulatory requirements are met
  • Present engineering to management and customers during program level reviews and other technical meetings

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience with aircraft loads with an emphasis on ground loads
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance
  • Experience in one or more of the following: aircraft modeling and simulation, aircraft flight and/or ground testing, multi-body dynamics (MBD) modeling and analysis
  • Experience leading teams or projects
  • Experience using NASTRAN or ADAMS
  • Proficiency in one or more higher-level programming languages such as C, Fortran, MATLAB, python, or similar
  • Possess interpersonal communication (written & verbal) skills in a team-oriented environment
