Preferred employers include: Apple (hardware), Meta (Reality Labs), GE Healthcare, Medtronic, Stryker, Philips, Smith & Nephew REGULATORY EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED Candidates must have experience working within FDA-regulated environments or equivalent. This includes:
  • Designing interfaces for products governed by FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, or similar standards
  • Creating traceable UX documentation to support design controls, validation, and compliance
  • Understanding of usability requirements and regulatory submissions for digital products in healthcare or life sciences

Summary Seeking a Senior UX Designer to join its digital innovation team, focused on building advanced interfaces for surgical software and hardware. Responsibilities
  • Design interfaces across surgical consoles, touchscreens, desktop, mobile, and web platforms

Qualifications
  • Degree in a related field
  • 6+ years of UX/UI design experience across complex systems
  • Must have experience designing for FDA-regulated or equivalent environments (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304), with documented UX traceability
  • Portfolio must demonstrate simplification of complex systems, rationale-driven design decisions, and documentation that supports traceability, validation, and design controls
  • 2+ years designing GUIs for embedded systems or physical hardware in regulated domains
  • Experience designing for multi-platform software/hardware ecosystems (e.g., surgical consoles, touchscreens, desktop, mobile, embedded interfaces)
  • Experience collaborating directly with software engineering teams
  • 3+ years working in Agile product environments
  • 3+ years conducting user research and usability testing
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, human-centered design, and design thinking
  • Proficient in Figma and Sketch
  • Skilled in journey mapping, story mapping, voice of customer (VoC), and user metrics
