Responsibilities include:Capture and define product requirements based on customer needs and engineering inputResearch technologies, components, standards, and design approachesPropose, simulate, and validate hardware architectures and circuitsCreate schematics and PCB layouts based on project requirementsProvide project timeline and development estimatesSupport product development from concept through productionOptimize designs for cost, manufacturability, reliability, and performanceDocument assemblies, bills of materials, engineering changes, and related design detailsParticipate in and lead schematic, layout, and design reviewsWork closely with other engineering disciplines to complete product designsAssemble, test, troubleshoot, and validate prototypes and finished productsCreate technical and customer-facing documentationProvide customer support as neededAssist with maintaining component libraries and project databasesMentor less experienced engineers and share best practicesMaintain a clean and organized lab and workspaceSupport a collaborative, positive, and team-oriented work environmentPerform other duties as assignedWhat We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is a hands-on hardware engineer with strong experience in power electronics, embedded systems, PCB design, and battery-powered applications.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering4+ years of related hardware engineering experienceStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsDeep understanding of DC-DC power conversion and switch-mode power supply topologiesExperience with battery-based electric power systemsUnderstanding of vehicle electrification and safety requirements for battery-powered systemsExperience designing hardware involving microcontrollersSchematic capture and PCB layout experienceExperience with thermal analysis and thermal management strategiesExperience with precision analog measurements in high-noise environmentsExperience designing for high-current and high-voltage applicationsExperience implementing CAN, USB, and serial communication circuitsExperience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power suppliesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work well in a fast-paced, team-based environmentAbility to manage deadlines and support multiple project prioritiesWhy Join Packet Digital?At Packet Digital, you will have the opportunity to work on advanced electronic systems that support innovative unmanned and battery-powered technologies.
