Your work will ensure products meet stringent thermal, structural, environmental, and performance requirements while supporting manufacturability, quality, and cost objectives. You will contribute directly to the reliability and success of technologies that power critical transportation and mining applications worldwide.
What will your typical day look like?
  • Collaborate with electrical and systems engineers to design and model complex electronic assemblies that integrate PCBs, interconnects, and mechanical enclosures.
  • Design electronic enclosures and optimize panel architectures to achieve performance, testability, manufacturability, and cost targets.
  • Research and select connectors and interconnect solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Apply industry best practices for ruggedized electronics, including thermal management, EMC considerations, shock, and vibration requirements.
  • Create finite element models to evaluate structural, fatigue, and dynamic performance of new products.
  • Perform thermal simulations of electronic assemblies and conduct thermal mitigation trade studies involving active and passive cooling methods.
  • Analyze mechanical assemblies, including bolted joints, tolerance stack-ups, and GD&T requirements.
  • Prepare and release engineering documentation such as drawings, bills of materials, calculations, and purchase specifications.
  • Lead technical design reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support supplier selection activities, production launches, and PPAP documentation.
