Location: Urbandale, IA (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Standard business hours with seasonal 2nd shift support (11:00 AM - 8:00 PM, February-May)
Job Type: Contract / Full-Time (based on client need)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack TypeScript Developer to join a fast-paced Research & Development team focused on advancing agricultural technology solutions. In this role, you will design, develop, and support software applications that interact directly with automated machinery and research systems. You will work across the full technology stack, leveraging TypeScript, Node.js, React, SQL, and JSON APIs to build scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions that support agricultural research initiatives.
This position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence product design, system architecture, and technical direction while collaborating with cross-functional engineering and research teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
  • Create and support systems that interface with automated equipment and agricultural research technologies.
  • Design relational databases and develop efficient SQL queries to support application performance and data integrity.
  • Build and maintain RESTful and JSON-based APIs for system integration and data exchange.
  • Participate in product planning, requirements gathering, and technical design discussions.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and perform debugging activities to ensure system reliability.
  • Deploy, support, enhance, and optimize software solutions throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and stakeholders to deliver innovative technology solutions.
  • Contribute ideas that improve software architecture, scalability, maintainability, and user experience.
  • Ensure code quality through testing, documentation, and adherence to development best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, database design, server administration, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience developing applications with JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Strong proficiency with Node.js and modern front-end development frameworks, including React.
  • Experience designing and developing relational databases and writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience developing and consuming JSON APIs and web services.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Urbandale, IA.
  • Ability to support a seasonal second-shift schedule (11:00 AM - 8:00 PM, February through May).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Git for source control and collaborative development.
