Location: Jacksonville, Florida (Onsite)
Duration: 12 months
Role Overview
Our organization is seeking an Application Architect. The DevEx Solutions Architecture team provides enterprise technical standards and common technical services, platforms, and tools leveraged by delivery teams across all lines of business. This role will lead the solution design of these common services, platforms, and tools. The position requires a strong sense of ownership for both personal deliverables and value stream goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create technical designs for architecturally significant business and technical changes.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams on implementation according to design, standards, and best practices.
  • Evaluate vendor and in-house solutions against architecture standards and technical requirements.
  • Manage value stream architecture runway and technical debt backlog with input from key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with peer Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects on cohesive and consistent architecture approaches and best practices.
  • Provide clear, concise technical guidance to delivery partners.
  • Perform hands-on proof-of-concept work to assess the applicability and impact of technology and patterns.
Required Qualifications
  • Broad and deep experience designing solutions across varied software development platforms and environments including Linux, Windows, Java, .Net, Python, and Javascript.
  • Technical expertise with DevOps automation and enablement technologies including Jenkins, Ansible/Tower, Jira, Git/Bitbucket, Artifactory, and SonarQube.
  • Design and/or development experience with complex, integrated, high-volume applications for resiliency and performance.
  • Knowledge of security aspects of integrated system design and associated protocols such as token-based authentication (oAuth/oIDC) and encryption.
  • Process expertise across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements definition, build, test, deploy, release, and operate.
  • Ability to work as an independent, ownership-focused technical leader requiring minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Production-level experience with microservices/SOA enabling tools such as API Management, Kubernetes/Docker, and service gateways/meshes.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, routines, and tools.
  • Technical experience with web application UI frameworks such as Angular or React.
