The Opportunity (General Summary)

NTS is seeking a Senior Developer to design, develop, test and maintain production capabilities of Stronghold, a secure AI-enabled SaaS platform. The ideal candidate has experience building modern cloud applications and AI-enabled systems as part of high-performance teams. In this role you will ensure system reliability, drive automation, maintain compliance, and act as the on-site technical lead.

Key Responsibilities (Principal Duties and Accountabilities *Essential Functions)
  • Design, develop, test and maintain production capabilities across the Stronghold platform
  • Design and implement AI-enabled capabilities including RAG, information extraction, search, report generation and agentic-driven workflows
  • Develop modern web application functionality across front-end/back-end and supporting services
  • Review code and technical designs from other developers providing actionable feedback focused on security, maintainability and simplicity
  • Mentor junior engineers and act as the on-site technical authority
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Required Skills, Experience & Abilities
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years progressive relevant experience in software development, search engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience with TypeScript and Node
  • Understanding of lexical search, vector search, semantic search, metadata filtering, and hybrid retrieval.
  • Experience working in secure or restricted environments
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with the Department of State
  • Experience with OpenSearch vector search, ingest pipelines, index state management, aliases snapshots, and security features.
  • Hands-on experience developing and operating solutions using OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or a comparable search platform.
  • Experience with document extraction technologies for PDF, Office, email, html, audio, video, or scanned content.
  • Experience integrating with Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure Blob Storage, network file shares, API

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $150,000-$210,000

Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, location, and internal equity.
