Signal 1's first product, the AI Management System (AIMS), gives health system leaders visibility and control across their growing AI portfolios. AIMS offers comprehensive oversight of predictive and generative AI applications and introduces guardrails to mitigate downside risks. It sets the standard for Responsible AI in healthcare. Purpose-built for healthcare and informed by years of experience managing AI at scale in other industries, Signal 1 empowers healthcare organizations to translate innovation into real clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.
Signal 1 is a 30-person, well-funded and rapidly growing startup with strong product market fit and deployments at a growing number of top-20 US health systems.

We are looking for a Senior Full StackSoftwareEngineer to join our Application Engineering Team. You will:

  • Build and evolve the frontend and backend of the Signal 1 AI Management System.
  • Drive software architecture design andestablishmodern engineering practices thatleverageAI-assisted development to raise quality and velocity.
  • Break down ambiguous, high-level problems into concrete technical solutions and engineering plans.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with Product, Design, ML, Security,Infrastructureand other engineering teams.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degreein Computer Scienceor equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience shipping user-facing products-you care about building things that are genuinely useful, not just visually polished.
  • Strong systemdesign and software architecture skills-you canownend-to-end technical decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguity.
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (e.g.Claude) and a strong willingness to integrate them into daily workflows.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with TypeScript, React, Chart.js, Java 21, Spring Boot, Postgres, or any equivalent modern technologies.
  • You have workedinstartup environments and shipped products from 0 to 1.
  • You are passionate about great user experiences and data visualization.
  • Pragmatic mindset-you prioritize speed and business impact over unnecessary technical complexity.
  • Prior experience in working with AI and/or in healthcare.
