What You Will Do:
The Senior Engineer, Project Engineering will be responsible for overseeing and improving designs, manufacturing, and engine test processes for legacy and new production Military APU products within the Fighter & Mobility Auxiliary Power Unit and Turbojet business group, with a keen focus on improving cost, quality, and efficiency while maintaining or improving safety and reliability. This position requires a strong background in gas turbine engine design, assembly, operation, and test that is typically obtained through advanced education combined with significant practical hands-on hardware experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all technical scope changes are properly coordinated with the Program and PCE Office and full alignment is gained prior to execution of unplanned work.
  • Communicate project status, issues, etc. effectively both internally and externally (verbally and written) to program team, management, and customers.
  • Review project and budget status, manage schedules, and prepare reports.
  • Monitor and assess project issues; develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Design and implement process improvements to increase manufacturing and test efficiencies, mitigate rework/repair and minimize production downtime.
  • Execute and maintain documentation to support configuration management changes to include creation of applicable drawing redlines, approvals, and tracking of modifications.
  • Verify implemented changes match approved baselines and audit the process for compliance.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis to establish recommendations for process/product improvement.
  • Engage with procurement and Strategic Sourcing to ensure the timely, cost effective, and high-quality delivery of hardware through the established Supply Chain
  • Analyze program demand, supplier capacity, and supply chain performance metrics to inform decisions and identify areas of improvement
  • Integrate with cross-functional teams including IPT's, manufacturing, assembly, test personnel to drive operational success
  • Appy CORE principles and methodologies to improve production and supply chain processes
  • Promote a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all EH&S regulations.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience in a related field
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Travel 20% max - to corporate/module centers, customers, supplier visits

Qualifications We Prefer:

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
