Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of full-stack developers that work on all server-side aspects of smart home security.
• Manage projects that span a variety of technical areas.
• Provide technical mentorship to the developers on your team.
• Deliver projects, set project timelines, and generate work for your team.
• Work across various technical areas using the latest technologies while using Agile development methods.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive team environment through day-to-day leadership.
• Communicate effectively with engineers and non-engineers alike.
• Hire, develop and manage a diverse and talented team of engineers.
• Deliver large scale, cross-functional projects on time and in a high-quality manner, exploring technical feasibility and prioritization tradeoffs as well as process improvements along the way.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of professional experience managing a team of developers
• Strong technical mentorship skills
• Strong object-oriented programming skills; C# a plus
• Backend‑leaning engineer preferred, with experience working on full‑stack teams and contributing across the stack as needed.
• Experience with database design and development
• Knowledge of networking concepts, principles, and technologies
• Experience working with physical systems
• Experience developing scalable service-oriented architectures.
• Fosters a positive, respectful, and inclusive team environment through day-to-day leadership.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and non-engineers alike.
