Senior Full Stack Developers are experienced professionals who design, develop, and maintain both the front-end and back-end components of web applications. They are proficient in multiple programming languages and frameworks, enabling them to handle servers, databases, APIs, and user interfaces. In addition to coding, they often lead development teams, make architectural decisions, and ensure software quality and scalability. Their expertise allows them to oversee the entire application lifecycle, from concept to deployment.

How does a senior full stack developer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during a project lifecycle?

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you'll frequently collaborate with designers, product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver end-to-end solutions. You'll be involved in requirements discussions, offer technical guidance, and help align frontend and backend development with business goals. Your role often includes code reviews, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring seamless integration across various systems. This collaborative environment encourages knowledge sharing and innovation while ensuring project success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior full stack developer, and why are they important?

Job description

Description:

Hybrid 4 days onsite in Lake Mary, FL

Our client seeks a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with a backend and database focus to build and support applications for alternative asset servicing and private equity funds. The role emphasizes Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, messaging, and expert SQL across design, optimization, and migration. The engineer will articulate system design, own code-level delivery, and perform live technical validation. Frontend work is lighter and centers on Angular. The team values strong fundamentals, clear communication, and the ability to defend experience with depth.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $70.00 to $85.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Program well-designed, testable, and efficient code across frontend and backend layers.
  • Execute full lifecycle software development from requirements through maintenance.
  • Design, develop, and optimize relational and NoSQL database schemas for OLTP and OLAP.
  • Write high-quality SQL and procedural code, and reusable data access components.
  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices with clean data contracts.
  • Develop modern frontend components using Angular or React with attention to performance and accessibility.
  • Conduct code and design reviews with focus on performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Create flowcharts, ER models, data flow diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Apply security and privacy principles including secure coding, RBAC, encryption, input validation, and auditing.
  • Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and implement test automation for APIs, UIs, and database code.
  • Develop verification plans, QA procedures, and data validation and reconciliation checks.
  • Participate in deployments, manage schema migrations, release automation, and rollback strategies.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade systems to ensure reliability and scalability.
  • Monitor and tune performance including query plans, indexing, partitioning, profiling, caching, and CDN strategies.
  • Recommend improvements in architecture, data models, code quality, and operational resilience.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, promote component reuse, mentor peers, and contribute to internal standards.
Experience Requirements:
  • 7+ years of full-stack development with Java, Spring Boot, REST, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular/React, CSS/HTML, Node.js, and C#.
  • Expert-level database skills with major RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL, and familiarity with NoSQL.
  • Advanced SQL and procedural extensions including complex optimization, window functions, and CTEs.
  • Strong data modeling across conceptual, logical, and physical design for OLTP and OLAP.
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration.
  • Knowledge of application frameworks, microservices, and containerization or cloud patterns.
  • Ability to review test plans and test data with hands-on CI/CD and automated testing experience.
  • Understanding of cross-platform interoperability and multiple toolkits.
  • Strong grasp of security and privacy controls across the stack.
  • Teamwork, communication, and organization skills in cross-functional environments.
  • Preferred: securities or financial services industry experience.
  • Interview process includes MS Teams rounds and a final onsite in Lake Mary; frontend is less critical than backend and SQL.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
