Job description

The Platform Engineer I will design and implement specific infrastructure solutions that anchor our endpoint management strategy. You will ensure that our servers, networks, and storage systems work in harmony to support a fleet of 50,000+ devices. This role requires a "big-picture" engineer who considers security, business operations, and integration variables across the full application stack. You will contribute to technical roadmaps, monitor platform performance, and act as a technical resource for the endpoint configuration team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Endpoint Design & Escalation: Design and select medium-complexity solutions for client/server environments (specifically Intune and Workspace One) and provide a third-line point of escalation for infrastructure issues.
  • Architecture & Documentation: Participate in solution architecture services, preparing conceptual and logical diagrams for Entra and M365 integrations to document future-state architectures.
  • Systems Validation: Test systems to validate proper functionality of MDM policies and respond to performance issues to ensure a seamless end-user experience across 50k devices.
  • Security & Hardening: Implement security measures, including system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and message encryption, monitoring performance to notify security experts of anomalies.
  • Lifecycle Management: Research and suggest technical developments to improve the infrastructure platform, ensuring it evolves with user needs and industry best practices.
  • Strategic Support: Support the collection of business requirements through workflow analysis to ensure technical solutions align with organizational policies and regulatory codes.
  • Mentorship & Knowledge: Contribute to Knowledge Base articles and Standard Operating Procedures; provide mentorship and training to team members while serving as a senior escalation point.
  • Operational Readiness: Participate in after-hours support and on-call responsibilities to maintain high availability for the enterprise.
Skills:
Required:
  • MDM Mastery: Expertise in managing and developing all aspects of a product/service (Intune, Workspace One) to ensure full impact and value.
  • Full-Stack Awareness: Ability to navigate and manage public/private cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, networks, and M365/Entra services.
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficient in PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate and manage multiple applications and functions within the organization.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Experience with technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform to manage compute and network components.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to determine and analyze trends from platform data to assist in decision-making and reporting.
  • Change Strategy: Capacity to conduct gap analyses between current and future states to develop effective release plans and transition states.
  • Troubleshooting: Proficiently use and troubleshoot a wide range of IT hardware, software, and network systems to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level of Experience.
  • Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience as a practitioner able to deal with the majority of situations and advise others.
  • Managerial Experience: Basic experience coordinating the work of others (coaching, mentoring, or project lead experience).
