Water/Wastewater Engineer - Sioux Falls, SD

Solid Rock Recruiting is looking for a candidate to join a full-service engineering, EPC, landscape architecture, and land surveying firm with experience serving communities and private clients across the region. We are currently seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
 
This role is ideal for a licensed professional engineer who specializes in the planning, design, and management of water-related infrastructure and systems. They should be passionate about water-related projects and ready to lead project teams in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
 
Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will:
  • Conduct studies to assess water needs, analyze population and demand data, and design infrastructure such as storage reservoirs, pumping stations, water treatment plants, and distribution networks
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of water projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and government agencies
  • Ensure safe drinking water by designing and managing treatment processes, monitoring water quality, and implementing pollution control measures
  • Prepare design drawings, specifications, technical reports, and tender documents; manage bids and proposals for water-related projects
  • Assist with or function as the Project Manager for the design and development of water-related projects
  • Assist with contract administration for water-related projects
  • Provide project oversight to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality results
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with both new and existing clients
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering; advanced degrees or certifications are beneficial
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in South Dakota or eligible for licensure
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant water engineering experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in design codes, water modeling software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines  
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills  
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a small team setting  
  • Proven record of successful, long-term employment
