Job description

Description

The contingent worker will assist in converting existing controls models from MATRIXx model into Matlab models. They will follow an architecture outline to convert the models, they will test the changes on a virtual simulator, and they will test the changes on hardware in a lab setting. Results at stages will be discussed with OHV employees and implementation strategies may evolve as the team learns the best way to convert the models.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Convert MATRIXx control models to Simulink models following design guidelines.

• Read and understand MATRIXx and Simulink models

• Conduct verification and validation testing on both a virtual truck and in the Erie lab.

• Regularly present models and testing results to the OHV team.

• Ensure proper documentation of architectural design and models consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

• Document Simulink models, architecture, and test results throughout completion.

• Analyze Simulink model outcomes compared to MATRIXx model outcomes and present results

• Develop test plans to test Simulink models and MATRIXx models on both a virtual truck and in the Erie lab.

• Independently conduct testing along hourly staff in a dynamic and fast paced lab environment

• Communicate project status, including roadblocks, optimization thoughts, and significant developments.

• Optimizing the implementation of controls in the Simulink models

• Collect data using a variety of tools to ensure sameness between Simulink and MATRIXx results

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant experience

• Experience in control implementation and validation

• 5+ years relevant Matlab/Simulink work

• Experience with vehicle control and vehicle design.

Physical Requirements

• Perform office-based work using a computer for extended periods of time at a desk

• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in testing facilities, including hard hats, eye protection, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 20lbs in a test facility

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Erie, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
