Job description

The World Runs on Wayne Wire. Will You Help Us Lead the Way?

For over 80 years, Wayne Wire has been the world leader in precision filtration components.

From the fuel systems in jet engines to life-saving airbags in automobiles, our products are trusted by Fortune 500 companies across the aerospace, medical, and automotive industries.

We don’t just manufacture filters; we manufacture solutions. Now, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in this new position. If you are a numbers-driven strategist who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to make a tangible impact on a global scale, we want to talk to you.

Why Join Wayne Wire?

Stability & Growth: We’ve been a industry powerhouse since 1943 and continue to expand internationally.

Precision with Purpose: At Wayne Wire, we "deal with reality and honor our commitments."

You’ll work in an environment that values candor, honesty, and personal responsibility

A Seat at the Table: As a Senior Accountant, you aren't just "crunching numbers"—you are a strategic partner helping our leadership team identify trends, increase cash flow, and drive profitability.

The Role: What You’ll Do

Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be the analytical engine of our Finance department. This is a dynamic role that blends traditional accounting with high-level financial strategy.

Financial Strategy: Analyze financial actions and provide "big picture" recommendations for policy, controls, and future acquisitions.

Operational Insight: Work closely with Cost Accounting to establish new rates using ABC Standard Costing and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Inventory & Cash Flow: Be the expert on our inventory practices, finding ways to optimize performance and increase liquidity.

Collaborative Leadership: Act as a cross-functional teammate, providing backup to A/P and A/R, training new hires, and offering leadership to your peers.

Future Forecasting: Help create the "roadmap" for our growth through monthly financials, budgets, and operating forecasts.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

The Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

The Experience: 3 to 5 years of senior-level accounting experience within a small-to-medium-sized manufacturing environment.

The Expertise: Proven experience with Cost Accounting and a robust understanding of ERP systems (from manufacturing BOMs to purchasing).

The Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a must. You should be someone who can synthesize complex data into clear, persuasive reports.

The Mindset: You are a problem-solver who can handle variables with ease and maintain high accuracy under pressure.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This role is based in our Kalkaska corporate office. You will enjoy a professional office setting with regular interaction with our manufacturing area. You should be comfortable sitting for extended periods and occasionally walking through our production facility (where the "magic happens!").

Ready to join a company that is admired by its customers and community?

Apply today and help us continue our 80-year legacy of manufacturing excellence.

Wayne Wire Cloth Products, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
