Senior Java Developer
Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Hybrid)
Role Overview
Our organization is seeking a Senior Java Developer to support our Stock Plan Services, which focus on equity compensation for B2B clients. The mission is to launch a consolidated platform of microsites, combining multiple applications into a holistic user experience. The successful candidate will have end-to-end project technical lead experience and will be responsible for writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code while ensuring solutions adhere to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
  • Coach a scrum team in JAVA and Cloud Development platforms, including frontend and backend technologies like Spring-boot and PCF.
  • Ensure deliverables meet standards for code quality, unit testing, and best practices.
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Lead development on Proof-of-Concept projects to create reusable patterns.
  • Prepare high-level design documents, system design documents, and architecture documents for approval.
  • Act as a security champion for the team by evaluating, guiding, and resolving vulnerabilities.
  • Configure automated builds and deployments with tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, or GitHub.
  • Create Bamboo pipelines for CI/CD into PCF environments.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree or an advanced degree in computer science or a related subject.
Experience: 5-7 years of work experience. 3-5 years' experience developing with Java, Spring-Boot, Spring Framework, and cloud-based development, including Rest and microservices. Experience coaching junior and staff-level developers. 1-3 years' experience with Atlassian tool suites such as Bitbucket, Bamboo, JIRA, and Confluence.
Technical Skills: Strong expertise in system design from mid-scale to enterprise applications. Ability to translate architecture and goals into detailed technical design documents. Experience with the full software development life cycle (SDLC). Experience using IDE and GIT repositories for code management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with test-driven development or behavior-driven development.
  • Exposure to front-end design and coding experience with Angular or similar tools.
