Job description

The Valuation & Analytics ("V&A") team is seeking a Consultant to join its team. This team provides valuation and analytical services related to financial instruments for Deloitte's clients in North America and worldwide. The Consultant may work on the valuation of financial instruments (such as fixed income, equity, and credit derivatives, structured products, and other financial instruments) for both internal and external clients and may also be involved in advisory services related to quantitative analytics.

Work you'll do:

As a Consultant on the Valuation & Analytics team, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining vendor market data to support timely, accurate valuations and participating in quarterly due diligence with third-party data providers.
  • Responding to inquiries from Deloitte teams globally (US, EU, Asia) on platform functionality, pricing methodologies, inquiry workflows, local markets, and financial products.
  • Analyzing market price moves and recent transactions and implementing quality control processes.
  • Driving process improvements and developing tools to improve efficiency through automation and standardization.
  • Collaborating with audit engagement teams and internal technology team and communicating valuation concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Building and managing relationships and communications with team members.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, information systems, business analytics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of professional experience.
  • Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0).
  • Professional experience and familiarity with valuations such as:
    • Independent price verification
    • Accounting valuations
    • Development of internal models
    • Evaluation of Level 3 valuations
    • Review of transactions
    • Analysis of market price moves
  • Working knowledge of financial products (e.g., fixed income, derivatives, structured products), financial modeling, and fair value hierarchy under U.S GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with basic familiarity with AI-assisted coding.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You should reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required.
  • You should expect to co-locate with team members or other colleagues in a Deloitte office, at a client site and/or virtually, based on specific team and business expectations.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the type of work you perform and the clients served

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in mutual funds, hedge funds, fund administration/services, or Product control/Independent Pricing Team from a bank.
  • Progress on professional certification such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Experience with AWS and Visual Studio Code is a plus.
  • Experience with pricing vendors such as Refinitiv-Eikon, IHS Markit, Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC, etc., is a plus.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
